    LOL. Why at one time people pulled to the side of the road to let them through. .On a serious note it used to be done as a sign of respect.

    Texans pull oer out of respect. Not sure, but never heard of it being a law.

    I think it runs back to the superstion about preventing the spirit of the departed from finding its way back home and tormenting the living. I need to look it up.

    Actually, that varies by state — funeral processions aren’t allowed to run red lights in New York!
