Why would anyone need to cook that much meat at one time. Yikes.

I must confess….we built an outdoor kitchen (hey, we’re in Florida) and bought a large $5000 grill. But we NEVER cook INSIDE.

This comic was written years ago, and still is up to date! Everyone scrambles to get their own outdoor kitchen that is better than the neighbor’s. I would love one too, even tho I live in the north. I do grill out on a very small, basic propane grill, every night that the weather co-operates. I have even mastered fish! Love it for all the garden vegetables that the blanky-blank roaming deer have left us. I would take that pile of veggies Simon, thanks!

We still use our charcoal-fired Smokey Joe. Not only does it cook food, but it drives away the mosquitoes. (for a little while, at least.)

I love the ease of grilling with propane, and do not miss the hamburgers with the taste of starter fluid mixed in. You could smell the fluid being used clear down the block on neighborhood grilling days!

I still prefer charcoal to grill with. We used an electric starter so avoided that pungent smell of starter fluid. However, my wife insisted on propane because charcoal took to long to be ready to cook. I think she missed the whole point of barbecuing – time spent waiting was time spent relaxing outdoors. Our grill is a small, inexpensive one that has lasted quite a few years – since there are not many good days for cooking outside (I will admit to barbecuing steaks on New Year’s Eve at -30C (-22F) in my younger years).

Hope everyone had a great Sunday. Did not see much of the sunshine today as I was in a dark theatre doing the lighting for the summer drama school’s presentation of the Little Mermaid. I did enjoy the day though.
