Matt 6:7: But when praying, do not say the same things over and over again, just as the people of the nations do, for they imagine they will get a hearing for their use of many words

According to the fairy tale, god knows what you’re doing every second of the day and can see within your heart. So what good does praying do, if he already knows it all?

Ye have not because ye ask not. He wants us to ask for what we need so we recognize that He is the source of it and we will give Him the praise for it.

This is a comic strip and some of you see it as a chance to preach? Go get a congregation and leave us and Pasquale alone.

I say this (with slight variations of word’s so I’m not repeating the exact same thing daily) just before bed.Matthew 6:8-138 Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him..9 “This, then, is how you should pray:.“‘Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name,10 your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.11 Give us today our daily bread.12 And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors.13 And lead us not into temptation,[a] but deliver us from the evil one.[b]’

Insightful comments. And It’s a pleasant surprise that the most belligerent comments here are not from the people who admit to praying.

I think that is very sweet, and something to really think about. Prayer is something that should never be minimized or disregarded. Sometimes God says “no”, sometimes He says “yes”, and sometimes He says “I have something better”. Don’t underestimate the power of prayer. As Christians, we should pray without ceasing.

There is nothing wrong with praying but there is definitely something wrong with trying to shove religion down a strangers throat via a comic strip or a political discussion or anything not directly related to YOUR religion.

Christians have no monopoly on prayer.

Both your point and mine are applicable here. Some Christians assume that all prayer (silent or otherwise) must be prayer to their deity. .You know what Dr. House said about “When you assume…”
