Actually, Israel’s actions are mostly “we told you to knock it off, so now we’re going to make you knock it off.”[]If Hamas and everybody else truly wanted peace with Israel, then why do they keep firing rockets off into the cities?

The people who promote this would profit greatly if they can goad the Israelis into a ground war, regardless of who wins. Of course they are not putting themselves in harms way.

When you stop and consider that Hamas is being funded and supported by Iran and Al Qaida, this is a truly unfair depiction. Israel is surrounded by countries who want nothing but to destroy her.

The reason the Palestinians are in such a plight is due to their own leaders’ corruption, and the Arab/Islamic world using Palestinians as a pawn in their attempts to destroy Israel.

The sooner the US can get off the OPEC teat, the sooner we can drive the Arab world into irrelevance, and then Israelis will be safer…

Danziger, as usual, is dead accurate in his analysis of the situation.

The horrible tragedy of “the holocaust”, where Jews were half the casualties, even though a large percentage of their population DID pay the price of the world ignoring the horror, is NOT an excuse for them to become the “new horror”. We, as their surrogates in Afghanistan, Iraq, potentially Iran, need to tell them to stop their aggression. Reality DOES call for looking at both sides, and the “biblical view” IS NOT valid.

Gee Doctor maybe you need to look up some definitions in the dictionary. In red dawn the kids are fighting the enemy’s military which is what a guerilla force does. I have no arguments with anyone fighting against our army,Attacking the two towers is not the same thing as shooting at soldiers. Ask a simple question. if all the arabs around israel put down their weapons tomorrow what would happen? Nothing. If the Israelis put down their weapons tomorrow what would happen? they would all be dead by sunset. Israel has every right to defend themselves.

Jeff might want to do a better count of the thousands and thousands of rockets being randomly sent into Israel by Hamas. That, or of the fact this has been going on for a very long time but with minimal Israel response…up to now. Maybe the next cartoon could lampoon Hamas being asked just to stop rocketing Israel before crying out about Israeli ‘aggression.’ And a cartoon after that might be to suggest that Hamas think about using the money they’ve spent on all of these cheap, poorly made rockets instead on the people, infrastructure and economy of Gaza rather than for PR and attacking Israel.

I have a hard time taking any Muslim organization seriously who calls themselves “Pig Butt” (Ham Ass).

It is a mistake to think of the Palestinians as a unified force that Israel or anyone else can negotiate with. Regardless of what agreements are reached, one faction or another will break the truce. I’m not condoning or excusing Israel’s actions or treatment of the Palestinians in general. But the fact that there is no central body to negotiate with certainly complicates things.

Even the worst idiotic Muslim extremists should know by now that letting the nuclear cat out of that bag would mean at best the almost total destruction of all major Islamic cities in the Middle East by Israel if that country is even bombed by any Islamic entity. If there is one certain thing, it is that Israel already has not only the bomb itself, but the means to deliver it also.

And the worst? That the chain reaction of the events in the Middle East spreads to the rest of the nuclear powers in the World, and humanity (and perhaps ALL life) on this World will simply cease to exist in the resulting true nuclear holocaust.

Perhaps some of our more war minded on these boards should think about that sometime.

In nuclear war, there will be absolutely NO winners!!!!!!

Very good, do do I. And diplomacy will be very difficult knowing the thousands of years of hatred over this area.

Do you think it might be something in the air in the Middle East?

I think Netanyahu is trying to separate the Egyptian-backed wing of Gaza Hamas from the Iranian-Hezbollah-backed wing of Gaza Hamas, and destroy the latter.Netanyahu and Morsi (new Egyptian president) are maneuvering to come to some sort of entente, and they need some of the complexity . . . some of the rogue variables . . . removed from the scene.

Not an uncommon event in situations of this kind. Crime is rampant in poor areas of the US because the poor can’t/won’t control it because they have exactly the same traits you mentioned above. Just as that leaves the slums of the US open to gangs it leaves places like Gaza open to thugs like Ham Ass.

Let’s not equate Arab with Muslim anymore than we’d equate American with Christian. And let’s not equate Muslim with Ham Ass anymore than we’d equate Christian with some of our fundamentalist jewels.

Palestinian to Israeli losses: 6:1Palestinian rockets do not carry warheads. They are essentially flying rocks.

My son used to like a cartoon called Voltran when he was little. “Goliath” looks a little like an odd Voltran.Hammas wants Israel to attack with such force as to kill thousands of civilians and cause outrage in the Muslim world, possibly even bringing some military aid in from other nations. This is insane for a number of reasons. Several dozen nukes in Israel’s arsenal are just the icing on the cake.As I stated under a similar toon, Hamas would do well to learn from people who have won their rights, even their liberty, through peaceful protest and shaming the people in power to make concessions.Israel needs to stop building settlements in contested lands and find a way to live side by side with its neighbors. It is a very sad situation made tragic by the fact that all of these people involved allegedly believe in God.Sadly,C.

Why do so many reporters and political cartoonists want to portray Israel as the bad guy when they just defend attacks on them?
