first I thought they were stone wheels off the Flintstone’s car, but then I thought Mobius Strips.THEN I saw the license plate.

Actually, they would still wear out, but on one side only. Of course, a regular tire only wears out on one side also…

NPR’s “Car Talk” had a puzzler a few months ago that had to do with a design for a serpentine belt that would last twice as long as the current model. A Mobius strip configuration was the answer. Love the license plate, too!

@Daoine – That’s the first thing I thought of when I saw the strip, though I heard the puzzler years ago.

I’m only an occasional listener of “Car Talk,” but I remember that one because it was one of the few I figured out. (Not that I put a whole lot of effort into the puzzlers. I usually think about them as long as the segment lasts, then forget about it altogether, unless I happen to be listening when they give the solution.)

@Jonathan Lemon – All that work paid off; the tires look like they took a few seconds to draw. It’s hard to make something complicated look easy and natural. My compliments.

Did you hear this joke on “The Big Bang Theory”:

Why did the chicken cross the Moebius strip? To get to the same side.
