Boehner has in reality re-issued his “up yours, we cooperate NEVER!”, thinly masked it a solicitous plea for the President to just do things the “easy way”, capitulate on every issue to Boeher’s will.
The voter has spoken, and the Congress that earned a whopping 9% approval rating is back almost unchanged. We voted the bums back in.
This time, however, might be different. Both presidential candidates stirred up their respective hornet’s nests, bringing up important issues that need to be solved and not kicked down the road. Maybe that, and the outcome of 4 years of complacency, will stir the voters to demand more from their representatives. Maybe, just maybe, we’ve had enough. But our votes don’t show this, so my optimism is ver cautious.
