Wally: Shoes?! Jacket??! Purse?!! Where's everybody going??!! You're not all going away and leaving me, are you?? I hate it when you all go away! I'd be happy to go with you wherever you're going! Please don't leave me alone! Ralph: Wanna go, Wally? Wally: Yes! Ralph: You sure get excited to see your leash! Wally: "Relieved" is more like it! Oogie: Sweet! I finally get the house to myself!

GRIN — in essence that is the dog / cat perspective.
Dogs are pack animals wanting to belong. Cats only want you to service their needs, otherwise left to their own devices.

I was putting a gate into one of our parks that butted up to a mobile home park on a weekday and I kid you not there was a gang of cats hanging out together.

paulproteus: The proper term is clowder. It is common enough to have a name and sometimes even peaceful.
