I was teaching a class of young kids once and one little girl was “bouncing off the walls.” I told her she was not allowed to act like that in my class. She said that she had a bunch of sugar for breakfast & couldn’t help it. I told her that I didn’t believe that sugar could make her misbehave, and to sit down. She was well behaved immediately.

The sugar effect has been debunked, but it still causes cavities and obesity. Red dye #5 on the other hand may be linked to a bunch of maladies.
