Sadly typical. I’ve told the story before of my supervisor who was promoted to manager. He was an okay supervisor, up to a point. But he was a lousy manager with zero people skills. His first act in his new position was to take an Hawaiin vacation- with the woman from HR who got him the promotion. Can you say ‘utter contempt’ boys and girls?

Oddly enough most of the Human resources folks I have ever dealt with were not people persons.
