Referring of course to the British priest who suggested that a little pilfering from a supermarket would be ok provided if one was really, really poor, didn’t steal from a family run grocery shop and stuck to basic neccessities.

Not my usual stance in defending the postings of Views cartoons by Gocomics, but last I heard Canada is in North America and therefore this qualifies to be in ViewsAmerica.
The priest is wrong! At least in America you can get assistance from numerous charities: Salvation Army, local food banks, catholic charities etc. These are lots of these places here that will give immediate aid, even cash, if necessary. Stealing is not necessary anytime……!!
