Here in this country, we have Article Six, to wisely tell us where the line should be, and it’s backed up by the Second Amendment. Sikh, Hindu, Shinto, Christianity, Islam, Judaism, Animism, Atheism (may as well be classed as “religion”), and all violence projecting, or repressive “thought processes carried to extreme”, are dangerous to human kind, whenever one side disagrees with another.
The number of religious pacifists, is small, too, too, small.
Too general? Au contraire! It goes to the heart of what every cartoonist does everyday! Self-censorship? Freedom of Speech to the nth degree? What if it incites hatred? What if it causes protests that will for sure cause deaths?I’d say quite a controversial cartoon. A cartoonist posing the question to his own profession (or was it a statement).
Some degree of self censorship is allways needed. However the most notable difference between muslim and christian extremists is you don’t see christian extremists demand respect (as in our way or no way). Ofc that may just be due to the media.

…when does a cartoon cross the bounds of witty caricature to become cruel or bigoted? Knowing the intent of the cartoonist helps.
