So much for these historically illiterate “constitutionalists’” respect for American history and the Constitution.
I guess they never heard of the U.S. past quarantines for smallpox, cholera, tuberculosis (consumption), bubonic plague, typhoid, polio, and various strains of influenza.
In the great words of George Santayana: “Those who cannot learn from history are doomed to repeat it.”
Unfortunately, if there are enough who do not learn, those of us who did learn are forced to repeat it with them, and it is even worse, because — like Casandra of Greek mythology — we know how the story ends yet are powerless to stop it.
And even though the communities of those who reject fact, science and reality will be most decimated, those of us who tried to warn them take no pleasure in foreseeing the fate that awaits them. Most of us do not support the death penalty. And stupidity and being ignorantly gullible may be, at some point, a crime, but it does not merit the death penalty.
We PROgressives are not the ones who have sent them to a death row of their own making. As much as we oppose them, we were there, waving our arms and warning them, as they ignored us and self-selected for their Darwin awards.
“Give me liberty or give me death”?
OK, you win, you get both.
