It’s astonishing to see the world finally coming to the realization that Republicans and the right have been running on “alternative facts”. What amazes me is that nobody wanted to admit this until Kellyanne Conway flatly stated, “we have alternative facts” in front of a national audience. “Alternative facts” are simply lies, big lies, told in a big way.
There’s nothing unusual about this on the right. Look at the rights record on global warming, or the start of the Iraq war, or the flat statements of a Bush aide.
He cut me off. “That’s not the way the world really works anymore,” he continued. "We’re an empire now, and when we act, we create our own reality. And while you’re studying that reality — judiciously, as you will — we’ll act again, creating other new realities, which you can study too, and that’s how things will sort out.
This was Bush. This is Trump. This is the Republican Party. The party of the unreal, the party of the “gut feeling”, the party that DOES NOT CARE about facts or reality, because to do so would be to admit too many things they are doing wrong.
Crap, look at the posts here or anywhere. Had a lady tell me on another site just Saturday that Trump never mocked a disabled reporter. Sent her the video and of course she vanished without a trace. Doubtless she’s repeating that “alternative fact” elsewhere right now, and swearing a live broadcast seen by millions is “fake news”.
Bush left office with a vast recession, a trillion dollar gift to the wealthy (NO, alternative facters, Obama did not create or pass that bill, it passed and was signed by Bush, on October 3rd, 2008.) with a disastrous prearranged pullout from Iraq (signed in 2007) and a record deficit.
Trump will do the same. Or worse.
