Doc: I do hunt “food items”, and we have coyote and cougar in the neighborhood, and though I’ve never had to take down a cougar, squirrels can do a huge amount of damage, and poison kills things you don’t intend to, but a .22 is efficient.
Yes, depending on what you’re farming or ranching, squirrels CAN be a bigger “predator” than either coyote or cougars! “City folk” don’t understand that. (NOt that you are one, but there ARE reasons for “civilized” folks to own guns, it’s just that that is NOT who the NRA is “defending” any more!)
