The next step in the Republican handbook is to claim again that illegals voted so that they can claim the election is illegitimate. Then they will challenge the seating of the Democratic Majority. Once the groundwork has been conducted they will try to cut a compromise deal that they Democratic congress will be seated, but the cost will be going back to the old rules ( the ones they broke) that one minority vote is required for any subpoena to be issued.
Mark my words this is the deal that they will try to get.
The demonization of Nancy Pelosi is puzzling. In some ways, liberals have more reason to be vexed with her Speakership, since she was perhaps too ready to sacrifice cherished liberal ideals to get sort-of support from Republicans (who had a tendency to vote against measures which had been watered down and deformed to meet their demands . . . a fault which greatly predated the Obama years, when obstruction was the openly announced operating principle of the Republicans).

when one libertarian can actually spot another in the halls of congress, choosing none of the above, might someday mean something.
