They say that giving people too many choices actually makes people more unhappy. And we are definitely more impatient these days now that things are more instantaneous.People are never satisfied.Good morning, Cathy clan!

I’d give this one another [eye-roll] if it weren’t so spot-on.

HI, MOM. Happy Sunday, “Cathy” Clan.

In my last job, the owner wanted us to purchase I-phones so he could call us any time, any where

I was recently reading reviews for different model TVs, & one reviewer was upset that one model took 20 seconds for the screen to come on. Obviously they never grew up with the old tube type TVs that might take up to 5 minutes to warm up & the screen to light up.

I would have commented earlier but was busy popping bubble plastic. Thanks for the link rgcviper. Coming home from Hawaii was quite the shock – get on the plane at 77F and get off (the third plane) and it is -38(F or C – it is about the same). Took an extra day to drive home from the airport. Highway was closed so stayed in a hotel overnight. Closed again the next day so had to come home the long way through Quebec – 3 hours instead of 1.5 – over very icy roads. Still, got home safely. GretchensMom, lindz.coop – We stayed at Aulani (Disney’s resort and spa) on the west coast of Oahu – about a half hour from Honolulu International Airport. Beautiful spot! From what I heard, Honolulu itself has changed a lot over the past years – far busier. Driving across or in the city was, for me – a small town boy – quite the experience. Evidently, if you are going to drive in Honolulu you should first practice in LA. Lots of new malls – which we avoided other than using their parking lots since there does not seem to be anywhere near enough parking in the city itself.People were very friendly and helpful – both the residents and the other tourists. Was interesting that many announcements were made in Japanese first then in English. Understandable since visitors from Japan outnumbered those from Canada, USA, and Australia by at least 3 to 1. Weather was almost perfect. Only one very windy day which made it a little too cool for swimming so we drove up the east coast. Did not get too far as there were so many scenic lookouts to stop at. Glad we did not get up to the North Coast to see the 50 foot waves – seems everyone else on the island did that so traffic was very heavy and slow. We had such a good week that we are already planning on going back next year. So much more to see and do!

Sad but true! I can’t imagine not being able to stay in touch with my children with cell phones but when I was growing up we just made sure to be home before the street lights came on and parents knew our friends’ home phone numbers.

Hope you’re staying warm fellow “Cathy” clan members.
