Cathy: Your "um, hm! had that "ah, hah!" tone, as though you were accusing her of becoming a cliche of the overly permissive, guiltridden working mother...and I don't want to hear about it, Mom! Mom: Um, hm! Cathy: Aack! I don't want to hear that speech, either! Mom: Every year I getmore eloquent with fewer words.
