Cathy: Of course I brought anxieties from past relatioships to this relationship, Alex. Didn't you bring your old stuff, too? The insecurities... the neuroses... all the old stuff the stuff that doesn't even fit anymore but you carry it anyway just in case... the icky stuff that weighs down your brain just waiting for a chance to leap out and mow down everthing in its path. That stuff. Alex: I don't really have any stuff. Cathy: Embarrassing though it may be to be hauling 100 times the baggage, I remain smug that I'm travelling better prepared.
