In South Mississippi, they farm pine trees. First the seedlings are planted. After so many years, the tree farmed has some of the young trees cut to thin out the “forest”. Those trees have no value except for pulp wood which is used to make paper. This process is repeated a couple of times until the remaining trees are large enough to be cut for use as lumber. No rain forest are destroyed in this process.
