There is nothing wrong with using your own assets to promote your run for office. Neither constitutionally, legally or even morally. Whether it’s a good idea is the color of a different horse. As long as Bloomberg confines himself, as he’s said he will, to pointing out the various problems of this administration while touting his own behavior as better, I’m okay. As soon as he starts attacking Democrats though, he needs to realize that they’ll attack back. And unless the DNC is even more compromised than I think, that attack will include “He’s not a Democrat, he’s running as an independent”.
