Pup: “Raise taxes, increase government, erode individuality, freedom, and the unfettered pursuit of Happiness?”
With the exception of raising taxes I would argue that the other points were all hit by the Bush administration. Incidentally, the taxes that were lowered most under Bush were for the richest one percent who now pay less than 40% of income tax (which sounds like a lot until you realize that they account for 60% of the income) and as the national debt spiral out of control is there any doubt that we will all pay more in taxes in the long run?
Obama seems to be taking a reasonable approach to the myriad of problems this nation is facing. Let us see what his government & policies look like in a year before we tag him as left, right, or center. At the very least his measured responses imply that he will be superior to the current office holder.
Back to the tune: Good job ‘Sully.’ May we all find ourselves in such good hands in what promises to be a rough landing.
