It doesn’t have to be cows. As soon as I turned six, it was up in the dark every morning for my sister and myself for our first round of martial arts training, then something light to eat, followed by weight training for strength. By the time I was ten, that was followed by Iaido for dexterity and control. After that, going to school was the easy part. So when I told my oldest about my poor, abused childhood, she said ‘I wanna do Karate!’ So here I am again, getting up in the dark before the dawn for martial arts.
