The late, great singer/songwriter (I’d go so far as to call him an Americana-music poet laureate) John Prine worked as a mailman for the USPS before his music career took off. His label, Oh Boy Records, has a wonderful “Singing Mailman” t-shirt & postcards promotion with a portion of proceeds benefitting the Postal Employees Relief Fund. It’s a great way to show your support for a foundational American institution that is sadly being battered for political purposes while helping the regular working folks who are really feeling the brunt of things. Plus, you get to show off your excellent taste in music!

All work is honorable. I know my postal carriers name. But I do find it funny that for Many years the public ridiculed and bemoaned the USPS for slow service, the cushy hours, the high cost, the overall inefficiency of the postal system. When Trump says the same thing the USPS is now a bastion of all that correct and good. A holy and righteous institution which shall henceforth never be sullied.

I get other people’s mail, they get my mail. I wonder who’s getting my ballot.

Bill Barr’s got this one covered. He’s starting a campaign of felony indictments for theft of services aimed at anyone who distracts the mailman with small-talk.
