Bad things happen to the nation when “NO!” is substituted for compromise in governing at all levels or in dealing with members of your own or the other party.

If the GOP hates it, it must be good for America and Americans.

The GQP has degenerated into a gaggle of morons caught up in a cult of personality under a criminal wannabe dictator. Supporters of the GQP are either supremely stupid or supremely evil, or some combination of both. There will be a blue tsunami in 2024 that the GQP will have brought on themselves but they will whine and cry and scream “stolen” when they end up losing election after election. Expect violence and chaos from them.

I’m surprised to see Al calling for cuts to the defense budget and Boomer’s Social Security.

Republicans, reminds me of “I got plenty of nothing” but in their case republicans promise plenty of nothing and when delivered there sure is plenty less.

Of course the song the democrats sing to the republicans should be “send in the clowns”

Isn’t it rich? Are we a pair?Me here at last on the ground,You in mid-air,Where are the clowns?

Especially with green and boebert, it is a wonder with them always trying to get public attention and showing their minimal they don’t do a striptease in the rotunda but then maintenance would have to clean up where people threw up

Right wing conservatives fall short of radicalism but they are not moderates.

Never forget, conservatives, it is the ignorance and stupidity of YOUR Republicans that are shutting down the government. A government shutdown that affects YOUR finances, YOUR family. YOUR children. We all know you couldn’t care less about anyone else, but never forget what those people YOU support are doing to YOU and your family.

’Republicans lost big’: Trump demands shutdown of the government to make Biden look bad

Donald Trump on Sunday evening lashed out against Mitch McConnell and other Republicans who aren’t actively fighting to shut down the entire government.Trump, who said earlier in the day that he intends to thoroughly scrutinize and limit NBC News and other news agencies if he’s re-elected president in 2024, took to his social network to blast Republicans standing in the way of getting what he wants.

Traitor trump wants the USA shut down to stop his trials.

That’s actually funny, Al. The irony is that the Repubs have switched places with the Dems. Time was that Will Rogers said, “I don’t belong to an organized party…I’m a Democrat.” Who knew that disorganization was so contagious.

When you have a group of people whose goal is to burn it all down, compromise is not possible.

The repubs are the best ever at NOT GOVERNING

Remember Grover Norquist comment of starve government until it is small enough to drown in a bathtub.

They want anarchy so that the can justify totalitarian dictatorship.Dictatorship only arises from chaos. Nazis and communists are great examples The south American rule of Pinochet comes from the chaos bought and paid for by Richard Nixon and the CIA

‘Height of irresponsibility’: Top civil rights group slams House GOP over shutdown and ‘politics of hate’

The nation’s largest LGBTQ civil rights organization on Monday released a 30-second TV ad attacking House Republicans for their “politics of hate” and for bringing the federal government to the edge of a shutdown. The government will shut down unless the House can pass legislation to keep it open, legislation the Senate would have to vote on and pass, and President Joe Biden would have to sign, all before midnight on September 30.“You sent your representative to Washington to work on behalf of everyday Americans, like you. But House Republicans spent the summer trying to divide us and failing to pass essential spending bills,” says the voiceover on the Human Rights Campaign‘s ad, expected to air nationwide according to The Hill.

    Yes. Quite right.

This is why McCarthy has no choice but to turn to Democrats to fix this. I doubt he’ll do it in time to prevent a shutdown, but it will be the only way we come out of it.

Kevin is going down either way. He can choose to go out on his shield or on his knees.

And Democrats never, no never ever have family arguments?! Believe that and I’ll sell you a quitclaim deed to the Golden Gate, cheap! I’ve heard that, in the realm of party discipline, it’s like trying to herd cats for those of either Donkey or Elephant persuasion. I’ve lived long enough and seen enough to attest to the accuracy of this statement.
