“I’m sorry to say that your car has been recalled… to Seoul.”
“The good news is that the repairs are free.”
“Unfortunately, you will have to pay shipping charges.”

Back in the 1970’s when the telephone central office in Des Plaines Illinois was owned by Centel, they got an electronic switching system made by Metaconta. The tech manuals were in French. They had to hire a translator and send the techs to learn enough french to slog thru the manuals. I forget what prefix(es) were in that switching system. After a few years they moved all the phone lines in that system to another one and got rid of it.

Ziggy, it can be easy when you get a free manual online. A repair manual can cost a lot of money but finding a free one can be a good option for you. We all know that taking a car to the repair guy can be very expensive and in many cases we do not know if they are giving us the truth.

The excellent S. Korean film “Dragons:D-wars” is on SyFy right now.

I have a tractor made in S. Korea. The manual is an translation from Korean – directly – preserving the Korean grammer and picking odd words for most translations. If ya think about it you can get the meaning, but it is usually quite indirect.

I can relate to this. I drive a Hyundai. Some special parts have to be ordered from S. Korea.
