   The sad thing is, I truly believe that there are people who would put a machine like this out in public. And some who would actually put money into it.

    Well, look atd the ATM machines those companies place in convenience stores, charging you $2.50 to withdraw your own money, while the bank charges you another $1.50 for using a foreign machine. Yet there are people who use them or they wouldn’t still be in business. I haven’t used one in years, so the charges could be more.

    I used to not use those on principle. PAY to get MY money out of the machine? Ridiculous. But nowadays, I almost never use cash for ANYTHING (including the dollar store). Bank machines? There are some theatres that only take cash, but I’d say 99% of the time I use credit (or debit) and rack up the user points (I have already bought a TV and a scanner, and still have 3/4 of a million points to date).
    I don’t understand why anybody would use those “white” machines when almost every merchant takes plastic…???

    Perhaps you do not know that banks charge from 1 to 2.5% to the stores that you use your debit or credit card. Therefore you end up paying more for any item you buy using plastic…
