@ Fess3000 The modeling school probably made her put her feet in ice water in order to punish her for not wearing the standard uniform heels. I certainly hope that that’s not a penalty in her modeling school… because that’s just mean! One of her fans should tell her that wearing shoes is fine, just keep them bare only when photos are being taken! It’s funny that only a couple of days ago she was looking to cool down her feet from the sun burn…and now she’s trying to warm them up… such sensitive feet she has… ;)

Okay, I guess I’m confused on the context of the modeling school. When I went I had to pay for it, therefore no sort of “punishment” was going to come out of me disobeying short of not being able to participate. This seems like a regular school where you CAN get punished. She’s a grown woman being “made” to put her feet in ice water? Why not just send her home? What am I missing here.

deepvoice, you’re missing th eamusement of hubris and yenny shaking.

the hubri is she is listening to her fan club and not her sense.

You’re also missing that this is a comic strip, and any absurd distortion of reality is purely intentional.

Scaty, thanks, I thought this was a documentary. That clears THAT up, much obliged.
Bombers, lol, it just seems odd a modeling school is being treated like, well, a catholic school, cause I was thinking the joke would work better if it WAS in a catholic school.

I think the in the Spanish version Yenny says that she can’t wear the shoes because the fans of her feet are more important.

I think I have a way she can wear shoes but still be barefoot, soleless shoes. Make em think she’s wearing shoes but meanwhile her soles are on the ground

Of course, DVNC. But then why ask those questions?

Cause I felt like it Scaty? Why do I have to justify myself to you again?

In the interest of diversity, I will now become bi-lingual and study Yenny in Spanish. I may not have read Spanish since high school, but I have studied women since Junior High.

Okay, if we’re going to be snippy: First of all, it’s SCAATY, not Scaty. Thank you.

Second, you don’t have to justify yourself to anyone; that’s entirely your doing, not mine. You could simply ignore me as an annoying fool, if that’s how I come across (and I’m in no position to say otherwise). But by responding, you give me the power, if not the right, to tweak you further.

Howbeit, it never was my intention to offend or annoy you, and if I have done so, I apologize.

Now, perhaps we can move on to discuss “reglamentory” — an interesting artifact of the translation….

Google Translate to the rescue! The more colloquial English word would be “regulation”, as in a required part of a uniform; the Spanish for “regulation” as an adjective is “reglamentario”; and the English version of the strip simply transliterated the Spanish instead of using the actual English meaning.

    Words are fun.

Put her in stocks and tickle her feet, eh?
Hmmm… you know, that sounds like a good idea… In fact, I’m totally gonna draw a fan pic of that idea! I can’t believe I didn’t think of that earlier. LOL
