@BCR131 – as Heinlein once pointed out, the line between “bad” and “worse” can be much sharper than the line between “bad” and “good.” Yes, beginning with the Clintons, the Democratic Party learned they could get big bucks from corporations. But those people may well be pushed out and replaced by the Sanders and Warrens still resident in the party. The GOP has systematically eliminated anyone who is even a reasonable conservative, let alone their former “Rockefeller wing” of moderate-to-liberals. It used to be conservative to believe in science. No more. Now we have nothing but John Birch racists, right wing conspiracy theorists, and fundamentalist theocrats dominating the party and the country from their safe, gerrymandered seats and FoxNews propaganda. The few GOP politicians left who understand that politics is the art of the possible, are on the run from far-right challengers. The Democratic Party still has a chance to pull back from the brink. I have no such hope for the GOP.
