    I think you need to reexamine the cartoon. Look more closely at the order of the months.

    The caption seems to be missing. But it must be the Republicans since they are good at causing Depressions, like the one we are in now.

    The happy people are trying to sell their European company to the other group by showing them a backward chart to convince them the European economy is imporving.

    That wasn’t a Depression. And you can blame the right wing head of the Federal Reserve, Paul Volker who kept things in such a low level our economy was stopped.

    Speaking of Carter: wasn’t that when we had a gasoline crisis? And Carter spoke of conservation and increasing automotive fuel economy? He even put solar panels on the White House. Then Reagan came in and took the solar panels off and threw fuel economy and conservation by the wayside.
    Now in 2012 we’re still importing foreign oil and massively in debt while; Brazil which, at that time, started down the path of Carter’s vision and they are energy INdependent.
    Also, someone, a couple years ago, got Carter’s solar panels; installed them elsewheree and THEY’RE still working.

    Perhaps he was a Republican, but then he was a banker! At the Rockefeller Bank (Chase Manhattan) and they were generally “Republicans” but no where near the “right wing” (except in drug policy, Rocky had the toughest drug laws in the nation (perhaps the world!).

    He endorsed Obama for president. He was Appointed head of the FED by Jimmy Carter.
    .
    You want to call Volker a lefty, we’ll take that. You want to refer to him as nondenominational, ok. But to claim him (while putting him down) as a “right wing head of the Federal Reserve.” is just wrong, and it’s going to get you in trouble with the Carter haters out there.
