    That’s the whole point (hole point too!). If it produced the same result no matter which end he blew in {ahem} then the joke wouldn’t work. Just sayin’…..

    It doesn’t work as a palindrome. Palindromes are the same forward and backward. Spell “toot” backward, it’s exactly the same because it’s a palindrome. Or say “A man, a plan, a canal, Panama.” backwards. Again, a palindrome so it’s the same thing. The joke is the sound is backwards o it doesn’t sound right.
