This is the song comments day, clearly. And songs that are at least forty-one years old at that.

Re yesterday, can chickens fly? Chickens and ducks can fly very well, but the ability is lost if not used often.
Mallard ducks can fly very well – they migrate thousands of miles, but if in a barnyard setting for a while, they lose the ability.
I used to catch a duck and take it to a roof, and give it a pitch. It would usually flap madly, but descend at about 15 degrees, and land rolling head over tail! (Though one surprised me and circled around for about a mile before landing back in the yard)
By same token, if confined to a hospital bed for several days, one has to learn to walk again. Some abilities are lost if not used regularly.
(Lay off ASPCA – this was back in the 50s!)
