Absolutely, and we start the brain abuse in pee-wee football leagues.

Our modern-day gladiator arena demands fresh bodies to feed to the grinder.

Sadly, Ahab has an excellent point. No sport that I know of, heck, no activity of any kind that I know of, is completely without some kind of risk. But this strip hits home in a big way today. A popular 17-year-old boy from one of our local high schools was injured in a football game Friday evening. He died night before last of his injuries. Do we still love football? Yes. Do the kids continue to play? Yes. How do we reconcile the love of the game with the risks of the game, particularly when they affect our young people? I truly don’t know. The chain is an apt metaphor.

The only way some people can earn a living is if someone gets to knock the s__t out of ’em… Which Lib-program pays THAT good?

What we don’t see on the news is the fact that lawyers and ever more liberal court rulings are responsible for the leagues new approach. Who will end up footing the bill? The fans will on a professional level , the parents will in the early years and most will be glad to do so. All sports evolve , I am reminded of this as I look at the rods and reels my granddad taught me to fish on , please don’t let football be ruined by fear and “progress”.

It has been pointed out that in Football, the kinds of moves to produce injuries are taught and promoted. I would say that all that armor promotes hitting harder. I would recommend removing all that armor. But then the fans who want blood and death should move on.

I thought it was winning the games not being a strong arm galoot that they earned that money for.

The “death panel” is only for those who don’t have millions of dollars at the mercy of your oh so loved market place of life and death.

Seems to me it should be the millionaire owners, coaches and players to foot those bills.

For a very long time the name of the “Red Skins” has been a topic for change. Decades.

I take it when you say “lib-program” you mean something invented and created by liberals … well, the United States of America was invented and created by liberals
