not sure they’re doing that well. they tried to set back womens rights in texas yesterday, and a woman rep did a real filibuster and sculttled their attempt, for now.

Thing is, they also scuttled a transportation bill and another bill that were slated to be voted upon after the abortion bill was given the vote, and so the odds are almost 100% that a new special session will be called.
    []
And guess who is ultimately going to pay for that new special session…

I LOVE the total flip-flop Scalia did between the two rulings.
On voting rights, he feels the court CAN overturn a law on Constitutional grounds
On DOMA, he feels the court CANNOT overturn a law on Constitutional grounds!
    Hell of a change in 36 hours…

Rick Perry thinks he is going to be president.
    -
Is there anyone else who believes that?

    I do.
That way we can get a new governor here in Texas. As you can tell. I work here under all this. It has and can be interesting. If we were unionized we would all be out of work.

^ Wow, I never thought of that! Now all Scalia and the other ‘non-activist’ judges need to do is to overturn those parts of the income tax code that don’t protect Job Creators.
    -
On the grounds that Congress needs to review it.

congress reviewed tax code 12/12 best idea would be to make it apply nation wide [ ie stop non citizens from voting]

Just for you SC, I thought I would post the links again. You know about how $200 million more were spent in 2008 (W’s last full year in office) on White House expenses – including travel – than in 2011.
How W took far more vacation day than any other President, including FDR who was president for 12 years.
How a double standard is applied to this President and his family compared to Laura and the Bush daughters:
    -
From the Daily Caller, a conservative online publication. The last paragraph states how much was spent in 2008.
    -
    http://dailycaller.com/2012/10/08/how-it-costs-taxpayers-1-4-billion-a-year-to-fund-the-white-house/
    -
From the conservative Washington Times, the history of presidential vacations. Compare W’s numbers to Obama’s and Clinton’s:
    -
    http://c.washingtontimes.com/neighborhood/ad-lib/2013/jan/7/president-obamas-back-hawaii-how-many-vacations-ha/
    -
From the same conservative Washington Times on the double standard used against the Obamas compared to when Laura and the Bush girls went on vacation:
    -
    http://c.washingtontimes.com/neighborhood/politics-raising-children/2012/sep/29/double-standard-obama-and-bush-kids-vacations/
    -
Here you go. I only used conservative publications.

So NH41, as Rome is burning, it’s OK to keep on fiddling because it was done in the past? I think that it is called fiscal responsibility?

Rome isn’t burning. Some people just like to shout fire because they don’t like who the Consul is.

Newshound, you have obviously forgotten The Rule:

It’s okay if a Republican does it.

Too little, too late. The first black President is in the history books, the demographics are changing. Anybody who tries stupid tricks like racial gerrymandering will find himself in front of a firing squad when the revolution comes, promise…
