Jules Feiffer has described Tony Auth best, "His perspective is that of a bemused and often angry comic historian. Irony, never a favorite form with Americans, is his meat and potatoes. He is not smug, and though he can be mean, he is never mean-spirited. Auth is a moralist and an optimist. He insists, even in this day and age, that hope is more than the name of a right-wing comedian or the shtick of a reactionary president."

At least being drowned is more merciful then being buried.

@jack75287
But when you’re buried traditionally it means that you’re already dead.

Even the folks on Faux News are laughing at his budget.

If he keeps this up he may be a Sarah runnerup.
I suppose that is sad rather than funny, but life is not always fun.

Can’t anyone see that this is just enhanced interrogation? We’ll gain important information this way; and it’s the only way to get it.

The RYAN Budget is the same recycled crappy budget that kept him from being elected. Americans voted not to have Lying Ryan foist a bad plan on America.

@I Play One On TV
I enjoyed your post on another board where you went into detail about the impractical nature of his budget, esp. with regard to health care. Being 66 with preexisting conditions I can appreciate your points. My pre-medicare health .premiums with very high deductibles were obscenely expensive
This whole budget fiasco is a pathetic excuse for proper governance. It really gets discouraging when these clowns keep coming up with the same stupid plans, taxes, excuses etc. They just seem to be totally detached from the reality we live in.

Thanks for the kind words. I deal with what insurance companies have done to health care on a daily basis. I am aware of how obscene the fees can be for pitiful coverage. Single payer is the only way to go. The longer we take to acknowledge this, the more it will end up costing us.
I agree with the rest of your post, except I would go so far as to say that they ARE totally detached from reality. They get paid to do nothing. They have all kinds of power, which fortunately they are mostly too incompetent to use to its fullest advantage. They have great privilege, and they probably don’t know what it costs to feed a family of four for a week. They live in a dream world of power brokering and getting people to pay them just for the chance to talk to them.
This power struggle would be fun to watch if it were a sporting event. It is unacceptable as a form of governance, and will not change until they are at least mostly removed from office. They’ll get the message.
As an example, in last year’s State of the Union, Mr. Obama stated that we needed real immigration reform. The standard Democrats-only standing ovation followed, with John McCain among those remaining seated. This year, Mr. Obama said the same thing, and Mr. McCain bounced up, smiled, and applauded with the rest of them. Why? How many Hispanics voted for Romney?
