Jules Feiffer has described Tony Auth best, "His perspective is that of a bemused and often angry comic historian. Irony, never a favorite form with Americans, is his meat and potatoes. He is not smug, and though he can be mean, he is never mean-spirited. Auth is a moralist and an optimist. He insists, even in this day and age, that hope is more than the name of a right-wing comedian or the shtick of a reactionary president."

You guys seem to think Obama has accomplished something special . the popular vote count was 59,903,905 for Obama and 57,208,649 for Romney. Around 33 million people didn’t vote (150 million registered, 207 million of age)
What has Obama done? Well I know you can repeat the items constantly blasted out by the media. How about this stuff?
February 23, 2009 President Obama made the bold statement that he and his administration would work to cut the federal deficit in half.
Now we have 5 trillion more dollars in debt then we did in the beginning of 2009. In past times the bulk of Americans would rise up and demand a stop to the madness, but today this is considered to be just another necessary thing to help the “recovering” economy.
Recently President Obama released the newest budget that he claims will reduce the deficit by trillions. This budget, when examined, isn’t a spending reduction but a continued spending that continues to jeopardize our posterity’s future. If we want an example of what our country would look like if we continue with Obama’s policy, all we have to do is look at Greece. Massive austerity measures, riots from people who are having their entitlements cut, and an overall fiscally dark future. The deceit from the new Obama budget is seen in the savings it relies on. The reported savings is purely speculative. Figuratively, the administration is counting their chickens before they hatch.
Budget Claim: $850 billion in savings from ending wars. $230 billion of those savings will be used on highways.
Fact: There is no direct peace savings. The money that was used on the wars was borrowed money. If they are to spend it on something else (assuming they can end the wars) they would have to continue to borrow money.
Budget Claim: Taxes on the rich will be increased, breaks for the oil and gas industry’s will end, some spending programs the president is willing to sacrifice, will be cut.
Fact: There has been no tax increases passed, and any effort to do so will be inevitably blocked by republicans. As it stands right now, the “tax the rich” narrative is nothing more then a campaign promise if he gets re-elected.
Budget Claim: The U.S. will see good GDP growth. The Budget predicts that it will reach 4 percent in 2014 and 4.2 in 2015.
Fact: Basing a budget on speculative growth is irresponsible. Looking back, the White House GDP projection for 2011 was 2.7 percent. It was actually 1.7 falling a percentage point. For 2012, the White House at first projected 3.6 percent growth, but has since been lowered to 3 percent. Several reputable firms such as IHS Global Insight have their projections around the 2 – 2.1 percent range. Their record of past projections have been much stronger then the White House’s speculation.
It’s understandable that the president would get some facts wrong on other families health care stories such as when he got the details of the man with gallstones wrong saying, “They delayed his treatment, and he died because of it.”
In fact, the man didn’t die because the insurance company rescinded his coverage once he became ill. The efforts of his sister and the office of Illinois Attorney General Lisa Madigan got his policy reinstated within three weeks of his April 2005 rescission and secured a life-extending stem-cell transplant for him. He died nearly four years after the insurance showdown.
Perhaps you can’t call that story a lie. He may have been just misinformed, but the story that he told multiple times about his mother has some new found facts that contradict his story. Obama would say, “The insurance companies were saying, ‘Maybe there’s a pre-existing condition and we don’t have to pay your medical bills,’”
Turns out an important fact was left out: she was struggling with being denied disability coverage. She infact had heath insurance and was only left to pay what the insurance wouldn’t cover which amounted to a few hundred dollars each month, what many American families pay for heath insurance. She was trying to get her disability coverage to cover those expenses as well, that was her struggle with heath care.
Obama said:
Today, I’m proud to announce the government has been completely repaid for the investments we made under my watch by Chrysler because of the outstanding work that you guys did. Because of you, Chrysler has repaid every dime and more of what it owes the American taxpayer from the investment we made during my watch. And by the way, you guys repaid it six years ahead of schedule.
FactCheck.org notes that taxpayers are still left 1.3 billion in the hole even after the remaining shares the government owned where sold to Fiat.
Yep he is good at filing the air with BS super suit and all.
