Jules Feiffer has described Tony Auth best, "His perspective is that of a bemused and often angry comic historian. Irony, never a favorite form with Americans, is his meat and potatoes. He is not smug, and though he can be mean, he is never mean-spirited. Auth is a moralist and an optimist. He insists, even in this day and age, that hope is more than the name of a right-wing comedian or the shtick of a reactionary president."

I feel sorry for both Penn state and the Catholic Church but they will both recover. Lets pray the children recover as well.

Had the witnesses to these crimes gone to the Police First, this creep would be rotting in jail today

Penn State officials didn’t just actively cover up the fact that crimes were being committed. They covered up the fact that children were being victimized and abused. I don’t feel sorry for them or the Catholic Church hierarchy one bit. They both need to be reformed and those who helped cover it up need to be brought to justice.

I’m looking forward to Spanier being indicted.

Penn state is evil. The best thing to happen to Paterno was that he passed before he could be tried for his crimes.

I hope everyone in this cover up is exposed and penalized to the fullest extent of the law. Anyone who could apologize for Sandusky is evil.

The key quote from the investigation: "Although concern to treat the child abuser humanely was expressly stated, no such sentiments were ever expressed by them [Spanier, Schultz, Paterno and Curley] for Sandusky’s victims’’
That pretty much sums up where Penn State’s priorities are.

Colleges are run like businesses. Sports, especially football, is a money making affair at the college level. Nothing must interfer with the bottom line. Let’s all remember that come election day.

I don’t feel one bit sorry for the perpetrators of those cover-ups.

This whole thing could have been stopped from the “get-go”! I have lived here most of my life, and if Joe had stood up and DONE THE RIGHT THING, he would have been declared A HERO! Instead, everything good he and Sue did for Penn State, will FOREVER be TAINTED! Trust me, JOE RAN PENN STATE, NOT THE PRESIDENT, NOT THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES, NO ONE BUT JOE!

Sadly typical of most colleges where the football team provides the income which is to say most colleges.
