They’ve decided that they’d rather be spoilers than support the President and work together to help the country. Bush would have called them traitors.

    What happened to “Country First”?

  4. claudermilk

It gor trampled under “Party First” Very, very disappointing and very selfish behavior. They did thenmselves no favors. Some people in DC seem to have forgotten why they are there and who sent them.

    2010 and 2012.
    ,
60,000,000 voted against these jerks in 2008, and ousted a real group of rats deserting their sinking ship, whats left are the lobotomized few who can not see their own future.

How sad. Obama keeps telling them that he WILL sign A stimulus bill next week. Read between the lines. The Naysayers can, and will, be written out of the final bill. Their call.

Did I miss something? The bill passed .He won after all ,he didn’t need the Republicans.

  8. motivemagus

    motivemagus said, 9 months ago

Not one single Republican voted for it. Not one. Granted, Obama didn’t need it, but he did compromise – even ticked off the more liberal Democrats – in the interest of bringing them in, and not one came aboard. And strangely, some members of the media (liberal? Ha!) are blaming Obama for this. The Repubs are saying the same old thing “bipartisanship!” meaning “if the Democrats pass a totally Republican bill, it’s bipartisan!” Crap. Shows how much they really want to engage in compromise. Obama might as well just stick to his guns, and let them fail.

Yeah, he needed them, because the bill has to pass the Senate also, where the Republican Senators will take their cue from the House and the public reaction to it.

I am hoping that the President will closely review the bill and have the good sense to send it back if necessary to be reworked. It is a hurry up compromise thing and cannot help but contain many serious errors.
Keep smiling, I am middle Republican if that’s still open and I trust out President to do the right thing!!

JDG…I agree, as I said on another forum, that’s how it’s supposed to be done.

And Deserttruth…do you guys even care about the problems facing this country, or do you just wanna get your rocks off acting like seventh-graders?

k85: Yep you did. This bill passedo ne house. The other house has to pass their version, then the two have to be reconciled. FInally that third one has to pass both houses to go to Obama for a signature. There’s still a long way to go–that’s why they are talking about mid-Feb to finalize this.

Is it bad that, I, too, would’ve voted “no” on this plan?

Remember, Obama and the Democrats made concession after concession. They met the Republicans half way, then met them half way again, then half way again… They chipped away at things that would’ve helped this country immensely to get Republican votes, and not a single Republican voted with it.

I wouldn’t have voted for this bill because it does TOO little and makes TOO many concessions.

For the last 8 years, Republicans made the WRONG decisions. And now they show themselves to be intensely partisan. Why should we do anything for these bozos now? Can we start ignoring them now?

    Please?

Dems are doing to President Obama just like the Republicans did to “W”. Hurry up and pass something that looks like what he wants and let him sign it. George was not statesman enough to recognize the trap and signed anything they sent. This was not deliberate sabotage. rather sucking up in the highest degree. Messed us up, big time!!

JDG - don’t agree with you. Generally the White House under Bush got anything they wanted.
