Erm, ja, Tom? Actually, not a Grimm tale but a British one.
But I get the drift….the [northern] Europeans (what’s with the stereotype European from a hundred years ago?) don’t understand what is a Goldilocks economy; neither too hot to cause inflation, neither too cold to tip it into a recession. Austerity clouds their judgement.

Love the fact that the Read A Book ad appearing next to this comic today shows Scrooge!

Those of us dragged to see Captain Corelli’s Mandolin know the Germans used to be very stupid. Their new and improved empire has gotten a lot more than the Nazis ever dreamed of getting, and without any Germans getting shot at.

The problem is the same as in the US: corporations are negotiating with governments to determine what is the best thing for the people. The opinion of the people is taken for granted as something to be ignored as too naive.

Um, no. I think the ad cycles. Unless Scrooge and Randolph Itch are the same person.

Well W inspired wars that were kept off the books have to get paid for sometime. Its the child’s fault for not being a Job Creator and siphoning money off shore

This must be poking fun at the new Euro economics of Austerity which has proven it isn’t working. All austerity has done is sink Euro economies into new recessions, just like will happen here if the republicans get their way on austerity for the poor while giving the rich and greedy more tax breaks they don’t need or deserve and which won’t create any jobs.
