I live in California, and we only have two seasons now, the damp season and fire season.

He is right, it’s “climate change” now. When one catch phrase doesn’t work for the left, try another!

what ever name you don’t like doesn’t matter. The science is sound – for those who are smart enough to understand it. 6B people on the planet is having a negative effect.

Didn’t some hydrologist recently discover that the twentieth century was California’s wettest century in the last thousand years or so? So I guess that means California is now just experiencing its normal rainfall. Scary thought since there would be no hope that decreasing co2 levels would help. As if we could affect co2 anyway what with developing countries increasing their co2 output like mad.

If the Southern ice cap is getting bigger, and we had a really cold winter here? What with the water is laying on the ground frozen. Would that have some effect on rain not falling else where?

Actually, Luntz actually got one right for a change. Only parts of the world are warming; others are actually cooling thanks to the shift in tidal patterns that regulate climate.

    .
And speaking of not caring about science or facts, try getting opinions from several sources and looking at the raw data itself. The Earth is going through a natural cycle of climactic shift; humanity has at worst only hastened things. Even if everyone on the planet were to change their lifestyles the way pundits and politicos tout like an ecological bible, we’d be unable to stop it completely. So while I fully support changing to alternate fuels and other eco-friendly practices, it’s going to happen anyway.

Republicans added that “catch phrase” because Global Warming was too…“provocative.” So blame them.

Sure has been drier here in Texas, not wetter.

The Eastern part doesn’t melt much because of the standing cloud of pollution, the Western side is melting more than it is freezing.

If you Congressmen feel the heat of those fires, just wait until the former middle-class outcasts & forgotten get really pissed, and catch on fire!

“Even if everyone on the planet were to change their lifestyles the way pundits and politicos tout like an ecological bible, we’d be unable to stop it completely.”

Your operative word there is “completely”. Of course, nothing stays the same. Climate will change. But, as you noted, man can hasten (or intensify) the changes. The fact that we cannot stop it completely does not mean we have no business trying to slow it down or mediate it.

“I’m going to die anyway. Why should I try to take care of my health now?” is not a recommended life philosophy.

The only type of science worse than ‘agenda-driven’ science is chicken little agenda-driven science!
