    Do Putin’s curtains match the drapes?

    @Basqueian

    It’s usually expressed as “does the carpet match the curtains/drapes”.
    I, for one, do not want to see Putin’s carpet.

    The Crimean Parliament voted unanimously to join Russia pending a referendum by the Crimean people in ten days. If the people of Crimea decide to go with Russia, It puts our government in a rather awkward position.

    Hey, I think that’s what the conservatives want to see in the US-Mexican border.

    You lament the untimely death of Hitler? Seriously?? What are you a neo Nazi? Do you long for the days of death camps and the brutal and lethal aggressions that took place in Europe, Africa and Asia? Over 100M people died because of that insane man, please no wistful nostalgia for that monster.

    No doubt Putin is an ambitious dictator that dreams of re-establishing the infamous days of the USSR. Our actions to date show a country devoid of the backbone, finances or the political will to stand up to him. Don’t be surprised if he decides to keep marching into the rest of Ukraine. What next the Baltics?

    By the way the term “the Ukraine” is offensive. It refers to when it was part of the USSR and the “the” signified it was a “province” of the Soviet Empire. Ukrainians much prefer the term “Ukraine” without the “the” inserted in front.

    What really is at stake is the world’s conclusion that a financial and morally bankrupt America no longer has the will or means to fight naked aggression – next up, don’t be surprised if China doesn’t roll into Taiwan under the same pretense of protecting those culturally and politically aligned with mother China. We are showing our weakness and the world will respond – count on it.

    No, but Obama will give his environutter friends a pile of cash to replant it and prop it up along with an executive order or two and some new regulations….

    Ukraine seems to be divided not by ethnicity, but political affiliation. The one side closest to Russia wants to side with Russia, the other to the EU.

    Yes and the Democrats would rather have escalators or moving walkways to assist the illegals.
    -
    No that would be the pro business Republicans who want illegals to work for poverty wages doing good hard work. Then send them back penniless after. Why else would they be against prosecuting any and all businesses that hire illegals?

    How do you get that from this? I would love to see the mental contortions that lead you to your erroneous conclusion.

    “Not quite. The Iron curtain ran through the middle of Germany, after the CCCP won WWII and, after the devastation of the Western CCCP by the Nazis, wanted a large buffer that would absorb any aggression long before any Army could ever again reach the CCCP proper.”
