Calm down cops. Quit escalating a situation till you feel the need to kill someone.

50 a year, that’s not bad considering the huge number of violent morons out there.

“The death of a single person is a tragedy…”
More than one a day is just a statistic showing cops kill more Americans than terrorist.

And it will continue to be treated as a statistic since it is quite obvious only “them” are getting killed.

A few years ago, a small town New England police officer stopped a car late one night for a simple moving violation.
The driver was waiting for him with a gun, and killed him as he approached the car. Similiar incidents occur all over the country. Although there are some police who over-react, I cannot blame officers, in general, for being skittish when confronting a suspect alone.

In some cases no weapons were pulled.

I think this may be a case of misapplied statistics… To be more useful we really ought to know how many were ‘questionable’ officer involved shootings rather than the total number.

Also, I’m not sure if this comic was meant to demonize cops or point out our overblown reaction to terrorism…

@R-V Good distinction. The law enforcement officers I know go to great lengths to keep every encounter nonviolent.
