You shudder to think what sort of life some dogs had before they were rescued. Maybe it’s a good thing they can’t talk. Most of us would have nightmares,

My little wiener dog (also a rescue) had been mauled by a larger dog (lost an eye) and was afraid of everything. The shelter would only place her in a home without children because she startled so easily and dog parks are definitely out. When we take her for a walk she won’t leave our block. And she is the best ever of the several dogs I’ve had.

I don’t have the time or space this morning for all of the stories.
I’ll just throw an AMEN to StelBel’s statement.

StelBel: And with dogs, the next line is literal. (“the long, and the short, and the tall”)

Hear, hear. Bless ’em all. And bless the folk who rescue them & give them the most important thing: love & care.

I rescued a one eyed Greyhound. She’s the sweetest girl ever! Like having a cat with really long legs!

Don’t forget the mistreated and abused rescue kitties, I have one now. Sweetest girl ever.
