People won’t be moving to the Antarctic any time soon as currently it is colder there and the volume of sea ice is expanding.

Ha! Anyone else catch the street name – Amundsen Ave? Named after Roald Amundsen no doubt? Pretty sly Adrian.

So far no one has moved there yet. But as the ice melts on land and slides into the ocean the black earth is exposed with helps the heat trapping phenomena. All while the oceans are getting hotter and more acidic. (Carbolic acid.)

@bagbalm
And with good reason. In my state they are starting to get aggressive, chasing people on bicycles on park paths, jumping fences to snatch small pets, raiding garbage cans. They’ve found it easier to be around people and have no fear. But the people can’t do anything as it’s illegal to shoot firearms within city limits. Live trapping is no good as coyotes are too smart about them and leg holds are not allowed. The wildlife department offers suggestions but won’t do anything about it. So people have to come up with other ways of dealing with the situation. One of these days, some child will be injured and then they’ll do something.

Amundsen was at the South pole ( hence the penguins), and Adrian’s dad was on the Scott trip which was at the same time. Adrian went there recently to retrace his dad’t footsteps and wrote a book about it. Interesting read.

How come Raeside doesn’t sell products like some of the others do? I would love to have a mug with the ghost dog panel.

And then the animals come back. Living in major midwest metroplex. In the last year we have had Moose, two Black Bear, possibly more then one mountain lion, coyote, a birds book worth of raptors including the BALD EAGLE that now nests and hunt in our second ring suburb.
That’s not counting the deer that walk around. Next year I’ve got to remember to buy the archery tag.
