It’s ridiculous how much people spray everything and ruin everything for the wildlife >:( and then they wonder why our songbird population is in jeopardy.

I agree with C. Davies. It’s only happened the last few days- “The Other Coast” image has been compressed widthways.
I get a daily email of my chosen strips, and I have to click on this one to read it.

All the images have “width=300” which cocks up the aspect ratio of the wide image.

GoComics seems to have some bugs in its system (pun entirely intended). This is the only comic I have a problem reading, and it’s because it is drawn to be wide but delivered square. Recently another comic was inexplicitly replaced with something else, but has now gone back to normal.

Anyway, with respect to this comic — Go Organic!

    @furnituremaker

“Silent Spring”? Didn’t Human Events list that book as one of the most harmful in history?

The Stephen Pastis who draws “Pearls Before Swines” has said that failure to follow the proper width/hight ratio when drawing a comic strip can result in squashing or otherwise distorting a strip when it typeset (if that word is still used) by computerized printing presses (if they’re still called printing presses).

Take away the trees and the birds
All have to sit upon the ground, uum
    Take away their wings and
The birds will have to walk to get around
And take away the bird baths
And dirty birds will soon be ev’rywhere
    Take away their feathers and
The birds will walk around in underwear
Take away their chirp and the
Birds will have to whisper when they sing
And take away their common sense and
They’ll be headed southward in the spring

    Oh remember my darling
When spring is in the air
    And the bald headed birds
    Are whisp’ring ev’rywhere
    You can see them walking
    Southward in their dirty underwear
    That’s Tennessee Bird walk

How about some trees so the birds
Won’t have to sit upon the ground, uum
How about some wings so the
Birds won’t have to walk to get around
And how about a bird bath or two
so the birds will all be clean
How about some feathers so their
Underwear no longer can be seen
How about a chirp so the birds
Won’t have to whisper when they sing
And how about some common sense so they
Won’t be blocking traffic in the spring

    Oh remember my darling
When spring is in the air
    And the bald headed birds
    Are whisp’ring ev’rywhere
    You can see them walking
    Southward in their dirty underwear
    That’s Tennessee Bird walk
