    I gave up on the Oscars when they gave that piece of crap film “Annie Hall” best picture in 1977.
    Better then “Star Wars”?
    I think not! It only won because it was directed by that over-rated, unfunny, talentless HACK, Woody Allen!

    Have to agree with all of the above. Seems like it’s often just an excuse for “FILM VIEWERS” to put down the hoi polloi who go to “MOVIES.”

    I remember one of Entertainment Weekly’s comments… total gross of ’Lord of the Rings:the Return of the King.. 300 million or thereabouts at the time … total gross of all the other Oscar contenders for best picture… less than the figure for Return of the King.
