Why is it that when you’re in the country, enjoying the peace and tranquility, someone always has to say, “Quiet, isn’t it?”
    .
Can’t they just bask in it instead of talking over it?

I’ve got no problem with noise pollution as long as it is kept it in the cities where it belongs.

If you didn’t over indulge in carrot juice the night before, you wouldn’t have that problem, cousin…

Don’t you know that loud pipes save lives? I saw a bumper sticker that said that, so it must be true.
My peeve is people that insist on bringing their ‘tunes’ along on hikes. Nothing brings out the true nature of the woods like ’80’s music.

Keeping it down helps reduce rabbit population.

I have a cousin who is an avid biker. He will tel you that loud pipes save lives. Biker lives.

Even if I understand where he is coming from, I must agree with you.
Loud pipes would not be needed if drivers would keep they’re head on a swivel. Like they are supposed to.

Thank you all for your most excellent comments – When I was drawing this cartoon I was responding to the daily abuse of leaf-blowers, the incessant chorus of car alarms, unsupervised yappy dogs, moronic cars and motorbikes that whine like band-saws and those people whose volume is inversely proportional to the quality of their conversation.
However now that I think about it, I’d like to add idiots who blast their car stereo out of open windows thus creating industrial deafness on wheels, infuriating novelty ringtones, and I hereby issue an aural Fatwah against the person who decided that music should be piped out of the chairlift towers at alpine ski resorts so that even while miles and miles away from urban sprawl you cannot immerse yourself in the magical stillness of winter.
