True story: At an aquarium near Orlando two young male dolphins had to be moved to a separate tank after they pinned a green sea turtle against the glass and attempted to gang-rape the aforesaid Chelonian, much to the astonishment of the green sea turtle and a host of young children looking on.
It was from the Chief Marine Scientist who observed this incident first-hand that I received the direct quote featured in today’s cartoon.

I had heard that dolphins committed gang rape – I didn’t realise it was inter-species! Thugs!! Perverts!!!

Just out of curiosity – was it a female sea-turtle, or were they attempting to extend the boundaries of homosexuality by another yard or so?

Some dolphins are opportunists, it seems.

If he’s an antipodean tyro then he might be a New South Whalette.

Superfrog, there is a special corner of the watery underworld reserved for you and your puns.

It would almost have certainly been a male sea turtle, as aquariums do not keep female sea turtles as a general rule, simply because they have the urge to clamber out of the pool and nest each year, whereas male sea turtles never leave the sea after they first get their flippers wet.

By the way, Lost Bears, I am going to draw up Monday’s cartoon over the weekend – any themes, concepts or ideas you’d especially like me to address?

Something to do with the season of Lent – incorporating a Great Dane, perhaps?
