    That’s a lot of Keys to explore, but I’ll bet our Friend is not opposed to thumbing through Them.

    Typewriters? Monkey / s? Hamlet? I don’t think that’s going to happen. They might manage “The Naked Ape” eventually, but it’s going to need a good team of proof-readers.

    Given a proper amount of time even a monkey could write Curses And Blessings For All Occasions.

    I guess all the other monkeys are in parallel universe’s and are using laptops and iPads.
    Probably the best chance of a monkey writing the Great English Novel was lost when Davy Jones past away.

    With this many Typwriters available, there is not any reason to have any Typos available….!!

    That he does, Number Six.
    I loved those fabulous commercials … indeed they are almost certainly responsible for my irresponsible love of cigars.

    Ah, but they’ll never be enough monkeys to go around Marg. There’s the rub. We need more brains and less bytes.

    You’re not exactly paying a huge compliment to Desmond Morris,PColli, but you’re probably right, as at least the primates would be writing about what they knew best, which is the first rule for all writers.
    As for a time-frame, I’ll refer you to a brief Wikipedia extract on the topic of the Infinite Monkey Theorem:
    “The infinite monkey theorem states that a monkey hitting keys at random on a typewriter keyboard for an infinite amount of time will almost surely type a given text, such as the complete works of William Shakespeare.
    In this context, “almost surely” is a mathematical term with a precise meaning, and the “monkey” is not an actual monkey, but a metaphor for an abstract device that produces a random sequence of letters and symbols ad infinitum. The probability of a monkey exactly typing a complete work such as Shakespeare’s Hamlet is so tiny that the chance of it occurring during a period of time even a hundred thousand orders of magnitude longer than the age of the universe is extremely low, but not actually zero."
    And there you have it.

    Hah! I’m so very glad to have proved your graceless theorem correct. Johnny D.
    Now how long shall we have to wait until you’re evolved enough to appreciate this toxic little gem, hmmm?

    @Superfrog

    Ha hah, you may be right about the latter, Superpun. Though I suspect that the rise of the perversely abbreviated text message and Twittering may result in a new wave of ultra-minimalist prose that will favour dextrous slow-witted apes.
