    Me too. I was on the third tee when I started my downswing and the club hit the ground about a foot behind the ball. I had so much pain in my back that I could not play another round. Then I I had neck surgery and a hip replacement.

    @Tax Man

    Sorry to hear that…I have a pin in my shoulder and a cage in my neck…titanium is great stuff but I still can’t swing a club anymore.

    ^ Holy crap! Both of you need to toughen up your bones by eating calcium-rich foods. Sorry about the unsolicited advice but I go through this with my dad periodically. He stops drinking milk, yogurt, eating eggs etc. Then his back hurts so badly that he’s checking out the painkillers. After eating cottage cheese, yogurt, and drinking milk the pain is quickly gone and he forgets there was ever a problem. Then the cycle starts again.

    I think the only way I would be able to afford golf is by diving for lost balls in the water hazards while fighting off snapping turtles and ‘gators. There’s a lot of money in that, according to a recent article in “Golf” magazine.
