The Born Loser began in 1965 as a strip with no central characters that revolved around the loser theme. Gradually, it developed into the comic we see today, starring lovable loser Brutus Thornapple, his wife Gladys, mother-in-law Ramona Gargle, boss Rancid Veeblefester, dim-witted son Wilberforce and the mischievous neighbor Hurricane Hattie O'Hara.
Artist Chip Sansom began apprenticing for his father, Born Loser creator Art Sansom, in 1977. He became a full-time assistant, and gradually took on an ever-increasing role in the drawing and gag-writing duties until his father passed away in 1991.

Two solutions; get a better vehicle or be a better driver.

So why are they standing at a bus stop?

@MochaJane
some people don’t feel the need to drive their vehicle everywhere and then have to find a place to park it, time consuming and a waste of energy.
Smarter people ride public transport when it is there.

…or ride a bike.

Where I live, the roads are salted a lot in winter, so a bicycle used for commuting every work day only lasts through two winters. I recommend and use a winter bicycle, whose main requirement is that it is the cheapest that money can buy. Cheap bikes have fat, knobby tires, which are good for winter. But when I switch from my mid-priced racing bike each fall, I feel as if I am pulling a plow.

It is 85 miles to where we can go shopping where I live. The fools in the little town near us have “public transportation”..6 little buses that travel around empty most of the time. The drivers laugh about it, but it is paid for by tax dollars, so they don’t care if it is a total joke. Talk about a waste of energy..6 mpg just because the big city folks like public transportation and think everyone should too.

Then they have to pay to park it close to work. 10 years ago it was about $18 for 3 hours in downtown Chicago. If you have an ‘off-roader’ you have to pay extra.
